    New dust collector blower?

I wonder what size piping this would take?

According to what I have read on Bill Pentz' site, since it is only 2HP, it will barely keep up with 6" ducting... Somehow I suspect either the labelling, or Bill's statements in this area are off... Not sure which...

The motor does look awfully small. I have a 5HP 3-phase TEFC motor he could use. I'd gladly trade it for a 3HP single-phase. Wonder what shipping to/from Maine is like.

The duct opening on that blower looks bigger than my whole shop!

That was a bit of a joke. I don't want to try to triple my power bill

          LOL

This is an air handler, so presumably the blower turns relatively slowly. I doubt that many people want a screaming banshee piped into their office.

I was thinking of reversing the impeller, and using a chain drive hooked to an Olds 455. MORE POWER

could be for a squirrel cage blower - Still moves a lot of air, takes a lot less power, but puts up much less head pressure.

If you can't put up much pressure then you use large ducts which have a low friction loss - that's why the ducts are so big.
Probably the velocity=CFMs /area are not so high - the velocity would compare poorly to a DC-type impellor and could not carry off chips like a DC.
