Pricing input on a used Jet 14" bandsaw

I've found someone selling a used (3 year old) Jet 14" bandsaw (JET 708115K JWBS-14CS) with ripfence (Jet 708718R) included and asking $500 for everything. Amazon is selling borth for around $660. Any thoughts on a reasonable price to offer, and are there any quality differences to consider for this unit (now vs 3 years ago)?

    Thanks!

For $25 more you could have a brand new Grizzly G0555 delivered to your front door. There isn't anything except maybe the closed in base that the Jet has that the Griz doesn't. Plus you would be getting a warranty with the Griz and none with that Jet. IMO Jet bandsaws aren't anything special as far as bandsaws are concerned. Not saying that there not of good quality just saying that they're just fairly generic. I'd offer $300 but wouldn't go any higher than $350.

Probably good advice on the Grizz unless the name "Jet" has great cachet for you.

Depends on prices of used machines in your area. Personally it would be way too high for me, about twice what I would be willing to pay.

You lose and awful lot of value in a machine by not getting the warranty with it for the just in case factor... I personally wouldn't pay more than 50% of new value for used equipment. And with the prices on the G0555, there really isn't any reason to buy a Jet new or used unless you came across one for less than $300.00 or so...
