I found this planer on a local Craigslist. Says it was purchased new and used twice and stored indoors. Do you think it is worth $100? What if I can talk him down to $50? It looks beat up, but is looks like the industrial planer that HF sells. Where could I get replacements blades for it? Would I just be wasting my time or could this be a decent planer?
Is this planer worth $100?

I'm no HF hater by any means. But I haven't seen or heard much about those planers. FWIW, that one looks to be pretty abused from the pics. I wouldn't give the guy a penny more than $50.00 for it in the condition I see in the pics. Please like and subscribe to my YouTube channel. Please check out and subscribe to my Workshop Blog. -
For what it's worth. That is not a current model from HF. And that item number does not appear in ANY HF Gems lists I can find. If anyone that owns that planer likes it, they sure aren't saying so...
As far as only being used twice and stored indoors. Maybe indoors in a leaky marine maintenance shed near saltwater... The paint looks flaked, and there is way too much rust for the conditions the seller claims. The photos just don't back them up...
You could call up HF and see if they have spare parts for these, like knives and whatnot... They may...Please like and subscribe to my YouTube channel. Please check out and subscribe to my Workshop Blog.Comment

I would worry about the availability of parts.
