Weird "Ripples" in Bandsaw Cut

    A lot of these blades are not perfectly aligned at the back edge, so they "click" and wander slightly when the blade passes through the wood, causing a ripple.

    Look at the weld and see if it is flat on both sides and the back.

    The fix is simple - CAREFULLY hold an arkansas stone against the back edge of the blade as it is running - that will smooth the edge.

      My guess is too many TPI. I bought a brand new blade (Ridgid) at 12 TPI and tried to push a 5" high piece of soft mahogony through it and just about pushed my 150lb saw over. I bought a 3TPI blade and everything works great.

        I will check on these items in the next few days if i can get away from shovelling (Central Ohio can be lots of fun in the winter!!).
