    Mystery Accessory

    Hi,

    I was hoping someone could help identify what machine this edge guide belongs to. My pop was given a number of power and WW tools and this roller type guide didn't appear to fit anything he had. At a glance it looks like a router guide, but much beefier than the Porter Cable one I have. Moreover, it has a nice bearing guide as opposed to the simple mini-fence I'm used to seeing. The rods are 1/2" in diameter too. Please let me know if this looks familiar to you. It was likely a WW accessory, since the original owner was a cabinet maker. Maybe it's for a heavy duty router?

      It definitely looks like many of the router guides I've seen. The roller allows you to follow curved edges. Can't really ID the particular router it might fit, but I would guess it's a big'un...

          Looks like it is a router edge guide to me too. Must be some router to have an edge guide that big.

                      As I'm looking at it (it's upside-down in the photo) I'm wondering if it might be for one of those big honkin' routers they use to put profiles on granite counter tops...

                          It sure does look like an edge guide for a hand held router. The rods at 1/2" are very thick for a guide. You could post this on this router forum. Somebody there will likely know exactly what router it's for, if at all, or if it's for woodworking.

                              Im betting thats a Ryobi M12V guide. Looks exactly like these.

                                  It sure does look like the Ryobi guide - thanks for taking the time to post it. Are those large diameter rods (1/2") on the Ryobi? I'll let my pop know that it's propably for a "big iron" router.

                                      M12V is that a ryobi, or a hitachi 3 HP router?

                                              YEP ita a Hitachi, Sorry. The rods are 8" long and measure about .485 Dont have a real accurate caliper 10s, There probably metric .
