Maybe I shoulda posted this under "Bargain Alerts"? Here's the deal: I made a run to my local HD in McKinney, Texas yesterday to pick up some misc. hardware. They had a bunch of stuff left over from Black Friday and tucked next to the piles of screwdrivers, flashlights, etc., was a Ridgid 6" jointer marked down to $321 from the regular $429. I asked if that price was leftover from Black Friday and was informed that it was a clearance item. I was ready to throw some plastic at it. but before I did I asked if there were any left still in boxes. The department manager checked her computer, grinned, and said, "You should buy this now!" I wasn't sure what she meant by that and asked if it was a mistake. She said the actual price at checkout would be lower. When I pressed for the exact price, she quoted $214! DUH! It now sits in my garage where I just finished disassembling and CORRECTLY reassembling the stand, motor mount, etc., that the staff had managed to foul up. I haven't had time yet to check the tables, etc., but at this price I figured it was definitely worth it! The staff wasn't sure if a similar deal would be available at other locations, but if anyone is in the market it might be worth a shot.
