Lie-Nielsen Toolworks is coming to Houston

Yes, boy and girls, you heard it right. Lie-Nielsen Toolworks is coming to Houston, TX on September 25-26 so start saving your money now. This is all because of me and my big mouth. I just wanted everyone to know so tell everyone that you know that this is going down. I am going to post more details in the days to come. Pass this on to every woodworker that you know. I would like to get 1,000 there from all over Texas so they have more of a reason to come back more often.

Be very careful with the hands-on demos... They're not dangerous or anything, but you could very easily get carried away and max-out your credit cards...

No, they are just going to come down for the weekend. It would be easy to say that it is a travelling show, but they really are trying to structure where they are going. Of course, that was until they got to us. I am the head of the donation committe for the Woodworkers Club of Houston, and I point blank asked them how they could go to Austin and all of these other little obscure places, but they would come to the 4th largest city in the USA with the first strongest economy in the country right now. Anyway, they were supposed to go to Phoenix, but they were having problems with their venue so this is a matter of being in the right place at the right time and point blank saying what the heck.

BTW, does Phoenix even have any trees to hand plane? Not meant to be so mean (sort of), but more curious.

So travel to Houston then, and guess what, my buddy, Brian with BC Woodworks (www.bcwoodwork.com) is hosting it, and he is going to be slabbin up trees that weekend, but not just any trees, Ike wood trees to help raise money to transport all of the fallen trees in Galveston off the island. He will also be giving away $5,000 worth of lumber including a $1,000 slab of wood. No, you did read that wrong. Tell me what you think about that.

Here is the link to the Lie-Nielsen Toolworks Handtool Hand Tool Event page.
          http://www.lie-nielsen.com/?pg=1

I attended the Cincinnati event which was held at the Popular Woodworking offices/workshop.

A lot of opportunity to try out tools. There were also many demonstrations of tools and techniques. Some deals on tools.

It was a good event and recommend if you have a chance to attend.

watch your credit card when you are there.....,
          Russ
