    Anyone have one of these?

I just wanted to know if any of you guys had one of these compressors from HF, they are on sale this weekend for 89.99, when regularly 129.99, plus I was hoping to find a 15 or 20% off coupon as well. The model numbers are 38898, 90221 or 95499.
The links to the page are

Also let me know what you guys think of these!
    Thanks

Yes I have one ... I think I paid $69ish a few of years ago ... it works for what it is ... I use it for small nailers ... but it is one LOUD puppy.

Related question, I am also considering a Chicago Pnuematic compressor. Specifically...
THIS ONE as I see it goes down to $129.00 frequently, and has enough oomph to drive all of my pnuematic tools, and the ones I want... But is it any good?

I expect it to be loud, so I am not worried about that, just wondering if it is reliable enough for hobbyist use...

are you 100% sure that the specs are true on that one?
Basically the law of compressors is any larger compressor that runs on 120VAC 15A will have basically the same continuous flow in CFM of any other compresor because they have the same power limit - 1800W or about 2.5 HP
While the tank size can be increased and this one has a fairly large tank, that only improves the length of time you can get bursts of higher airflow but the continuous will still be the same.

Unless this one runs with 20A? The manual says 14.3A motor. But suggests a 20A dedicated circuit breaker.

If your only tool is a hammer, you tend to treat all problems as if they were nails.

The manual says 20 amp dedicated circuit required. This should be fun...

If it's anything like the HF DC it might have a wicked start up load..

If I had to pick from HF I'd go with the 94667 model you picked.. Oiled is way better than oil-less

This is what I use but it's double the price.
            http://www.dewalt.com/us/products/to...productID=2952

The reasons I picked it was that it has an oiled pump with iron cylinder and a 100% duty cycle.. It's built to be run hard for hours without a break.

Oh yeah.. if you have to use an extension cord get a good 10 gauge cord.. Your breakers will thank you.

I have the 38898 and bought it for it's portability. Considering what I expected I have been plesantly surprised by it's performance. It is on the loud side but comes up to pressure rapidly. It is a oil bath direct drive pump. The motor had both a 1 3/4 & a 2hp sticker on it. I suppose this it is the 2 hp is the same but they decided to be more conservative or some rating rule changed.

I don't mind hearing it, but keep it to yourself if it stinks.

                Maxparot,
What all do you use your compressor for?

Hey Jack, Don,t know if its big enough but Lowes has a twin tank comp and nail gun for $64 on sale this week. Its a Campbell Hausfield, looks to be a small one but the price is right

I have the 8 gallon one, and it has worked great for me. I have run with my nail gun framing some stuff, and used an impact wrench with it without problems. I paid $89 for it, and bought the $20 2 yr replacement plan with it, but I never had to use it. I would not hesitate on it if I was not using it daily. I too would go with an oil based model though. I know some other people who have them also that have not had any problems.
