    Timberwolf Bandsaw blades?

From what I can tell from the owners manual on my Central Machinery 32208 14" band saw, with the 6" riser block kit, I am supposed to be using a 105" blade (see page 25 of the PDF manual file). If the Central Machinery 105" blade is as impressive as the stock 93, then I want to upgrade blades to something like Olson Pro, or Timberwolf. I have heard VERY good things about Timberwolf, and so I am trying to price up an assortment of 105" TW blades, but all I am finding are 103".

What gives? Can anyone tell me where to find the 105's. I am looking at Amazon and this might be a typo... But on so many different blades who knows?

Also recommendations for blades would be helpful. I will be using the saw for cutting some pretty tight curves, as well as resawing, so a variety of blades is called for... Just not sure which ones I will need.

Most folks here order Timberwolf blades direct from the manufacturer, Suffolk Machinery. They have a Buy Three, Get One Free deal that runs more or less continuously.

Tell them what you'll be doing -- types of cuts, wood species, etc -- and they'll offer some recommendations on what blades to get.

There has been a lot of discussion about BS blades here is a recent one that has lots of extra info/opinion.

I went with Iturra blades and didnt regret it, I got his "blade runner" which is supposedly the same stock as Highland's Wood Slicer although it is cheaper from Lou.

When you call you will probably get Lou Iturra himself and he can answer any question you may ever have thought of about bandsaws and blades and thousands you havent. Dont forget to ask for his catalogue which has pages and pages of useful info and articles.

          Hey db,

When I first got my Rikon 14" deluxe, I purchased 2 Olsen Pro blades, turned out to be just marginal (and that's being generous).

I called up Suffolk (Timberwolf) and they recommended a few, one for resawing 1/2" and a 1/4". Boy am I happy with them. I hear that a bunch of the guys are switching to the Woodslicer from Iturra- no web site, just a phone #. It appears they are really happy with them.

I mainly use the bandsaw for resawing, so the thinner blades aren't too important to me. I'll give the Woodslicer a shot shortly, and see if they live up to all the new buzz.

BTW, the Rikon uses a 111" blade and Suffolk will make up blades to any size, so you can stop worring about "stock" sizes. Also, the turn-around time is real quick, and they Timberwolf (Suffolk) or Woodslicer (Iturra) will give you a lot more info than you probably want. Either has the universe's best customer support and knowledge.

All bandsaw blades are made from bandsaw stock which is very long and cut to length then welded into a circle.
So the long HF CM blade will be exactly the same quality as the short HF CM blade supplied with the saw.

Timberwolf/suffolk machinery will make any length BS blade you want at basically no extra charge for custom lengths. So that's not a problem.

It would seem you need a 105 because the 14" bandsaws that the HF is cloned from all use 93" blades, and the 6" riser adds 12" to the roundtrip length so =105"
So order the 105" blade from them, you would do well to call and speak to a salesman, I hear they will walk you through your choices based on your saw and intended uses.

Sounds like Suffolk / Timberwolf is the blade of choice around here, and their prices are not appreciably different from other vendors... With the buy 3 get 1 free deal... I will give them a call...

I've used both Timberwolf and Lou's blades. Actually was allowed to go to Lou's sanctuary. (Lou works out of his garage in a nice residentual neighborhood) You will get excellent customer service, advice and quality blades from both Lou and Suffolk. Both use USPS priority mail so you get your blades real quick.
Lou IMO is the Obi Wan of band saws. Pat
