Interesting....Roland Johnson of Fine Woodworking Mag recently did a comparison that found thin kerf blades to be measurably comparable to full kerf blades in cut qualty, and easier for the motor to spin because they take 25% less material. American WWer did an article supporting TK blades in issue #118 (Nov 2006).

I'm using mainly full kerf blades now that I have a 3hp saw, but when I had a contractor saw and hybrid, the TK blades were a great asset, and I found them to cut as well as the full kerf blades. Never had any issues with a good quality TK blade. A saw with low vibration and low runout (like the BT) should have no issues with a good TK blade.

Blade update...my saw is currently sporting a new Delta Industrial 35-7653 (formerly DeWalt DW7653) 30T ATB full kerf blade. Will make some test cuts for the first time with it tomorrow.

    13. 24T Leitz/Irwin Woodworking ripper
    14. *20T Amana Industrial ripper (brand new...haven't even mounted it yet)
    15. 10T Delta Industrial ripper (by Leitz)

    *= New

The Amana 60T is gone (nice blade), SF 30T is gone (that's not a blade! ), Forrest 30T TK is gone (great blade), and a 40T CMT has come and gone (expected more).

I'm really liking the DW7640 50T so far. It's been in my saw for a week or so...better than expected. How do you like your Oshlun? I've been favorably impressed for the price....surprisingly well made and performs well IMO. Without consideration for cost, the Oshlun literally outperformed the CMT in every way but looks.

Interesting that this thread is still kicking around. In the 15 months that have passed since I posted it, I've sold my 22124 hybrid and bought a Shop Fox W1677 3hp cabinet saw, which is essentially a white Grizzly 1023SL. My saw blade collection has changed quite a bit along with the change of saws. The blade that is currently in the saw is an Oshlun 40T general purpose blade....it's a surprisingly good at ~ $25 but is primarily in the saw while I've been cutting the outfeed tables and rebuilding my router cabinet to fit the new setup. My current "go to" blade is the Infinity Super General 010-044 or my 30T Glue Line ripper.

    Current blade inventory:
    1. 80T Leitz Pro
    2. 60T Amana 600610
    3. 60T Delta Industrial (by Leitz)
    4. 60T Infinity 010-060 Hi-ATB 60T

    8. 40T Infinity Super General
    9. 40T Oshlun
    10. 30T CMT GLR
    11. 30T Forrest WWII TK
    12. 30T Shop Fox GP/Ripper
    13. 24T Freud LU87R010 FTG ripper
    14. 24T Leitz/Irwin Woodworking ripper
    15. 10T Delta Industrial ripper (by Leitz)

Replaced the no-name "Made in China" blade that came with my 21829 with a Freud LU83 I bought a couple of weeks ago from Rockler. OMG what a difference! Noise cut in 1/2 and the cut is like the difference between using a sharp knife vs a spoon on your steak.

Currently i have the forrest wwII 30 tooth in the bt used it to rip down some 8/4 walnut and it cuts like butter.

usually i have a freud diablo 24 or 40 tooth 7 1/4 circular saw blade in it because its great for ripping small stock and dirt cheap

I put DeWalt since that is what is in my BT3100 and I figured that was most applicable. Maybe I should vote two more times, once for the Freud in my radial arm saw and once for the Hitachi in my CMS.
