Avenger Dado Stack - What Did They Sell For?

I am curious what the Avenger dado stack sold for both 6" and 8" and if anyone also purchased their 10" or 12" blades.

I think the 6" was about $50 (normal selling price) before they went on clearance for Avenger going OOB.

Bought the 6 from Rockler 2 years ago when it was on sale for $29.95 during their "Black Friday" sale the day after Thanksgiving.

Those are some of the prices I thought they were selling for. They will be coming back and I thought it would be nice for me to be one of the first but cost to me as I see it today is higher than what all of you paid.

              Brian,

I purchased the 10" three blade set (24-tooth rip; 50-tooth combo; 80-tooth crosscut) from Rockler when they were on sale for somewhere around $30-ish for the set.

I bought them mostly because I wanted a selection of blades I could use for cutting dimension lumber or plywood without having to worry about dulling my better blades that I use for refined work. I've only recently begun using the 50-tooth combo; it handles what I push through it on the BT.

I have not given each a full workout, but I like them and I have no complaints.

Brian, those were closeout prices. I seem to remember that the regular price was 79.99$

Were they bought out, or reorganized, or what?

The guy that owned it apparently passed away. There is another company bringing back the name. I'm trying to confirm that it's the same product from the same factory. Pricing I've seen on the 8" dado stack would be it at about $119 which I think it too much.

                      Brian,

Do you know if they are the same blades that Rockler added under the Oshlun name? I saw those in their last catalog and they look very similar. I think probably around $80 at Rockler now.

I don't know for sure but it's possible they came from the same factory. The Avenger had a good reputation so I thought it might be worth it to sell them but pricing may be an issue.

the deal where the Avenger's nominal chipper and plate sizes did not stack up to the right numbers would kind of put me off on the avengers dadoes.
Something was always wrong there altho I guess some people did not seem to mind the inconvenience for saving a few bucks.

Well Loring, the inconvenience was a 1 time thing. Once a chart is built, it's easy as pie to reproduce whatever dado width that you want. I agree that it's a bit odd, but it's not THAT big of a deal.

What dado blades do stack up to the right numbers? My Freud SD206 doesn't.
