I've found regular wrenches to be a little bulky with a collet. Especially using two to get the thing loose. No collet lock on my older 7539. Also, I wanna get a Plunge linft for that bad boy and make it a dedicated table router. I figured that $3 for a couple of wrenches to make into a offset wrench is cheaper than the $20 Woodpeckers sells them for...

[QUOTE=radhak]Did you mean 'thin 5/16', maybe? never heard of a grinder 'fattening' up anything

I Did not mean to be unclear. A 7/8 wrench is 14/16. I ground the jaw a bit so the gap was 15/16. I then ground it to the thinness I wanted.

This is how I did my "China" made cheap wrench. Just for demonstration purposes I placed a non ground wrench next to the grounded one.

Five more minutes with a bench vise and a mallet and you'll have a nice offset wrench.

Well, I still need to pick up a grinder. But- I figured I'd pay the additional $0.43 upcharge and buy 'em directly from PC. I wanted to get the other parts that my router was missing besides... Buyt I'll remember that for future reference, and once I have the extra $$ for a grinder. (I don't have many hand tools that require it yet, so it's not a priority).
