My version of the "herc-u-lift". After HD in my area quoted me $194Can. for the herc-u-lift, I decide to make my own version for my BT3000. I used MDF, 4, 3" swivel casters from Lee Valley(4.20 each, HD wanted 8.48 for 2.5" casters) 1/4 x 20 nuts, bolts, washers etc, and a screen door catch.

Nice work.
How much would shipping of the "Tim-Will-Lift" be to Virginia?Don't be stupid, the universe is watching.Comment

Where were you and your idea when I spent 37 hours putting the herc-u-lift together. This is both a simple and brilliant design, I know what my next mobile tool cart will be on, beautiful work, great idea.

That's........not right........
You can't just go and design something like that on your own and have it come out looking that good and that finished and actually have it work like you wanted to.
Every single time I think I'm learning and progressing someone comes along to remind me what a newbie I am...........lol
And yes, if you're sharing plans / dims for that, I'd like a copy ! My BT3100 base is now the base for my router table so I'd love to give that idea a try.

That's great Tim. Stick this in Finished Projects where it will get more attention. AND, quickly send it to several WW mags, you're sure to win something!

Nice Job Tim and great idea. I know what you mean about Home Depot and their prices!!!
BTW, where in Scarborugh are you? Love to come and see the lift in person (and copy it of course). I am at Steeles and 404.Turaj (in Toronto)

But, Ken, is there a simple way of potentially transferring this to Finished Projects? I wouldn't mind doing that and I will add some drawings to it at the same timeSometimes my mind wanders. It's always come back though......sofar!Comment

The best thing would be to get it added to the articles section. That way it is permanent. Good design, Tim.Don, aka Pappy,

Awesome design, Tim! I had just posted a WTB for a Herc-U-Lift when I saw this thread. Thanks for sharing.
I think I can work off the pic, but it would be great if you could add some construction details. As Paul said: "Please!"The war against inferior and overpriced furniture continues!
