They are very easy to use and I have several professional Digital multimeters as an electronics engineer.
The clever design clips onto and holds any standard sized battery from AAA to D plus a few other batteries plus alkaline/silver coin cells and lithium coin cells and 9V batteries.
It also loads the battery a bit (around 100 ohms I measured) to test under a realistic load, something you can't do easily with a DMM. ALso much easier to use than the probes of a DMM.
At under $10 free shipping I have a couple of these.
Google search for BT189 battery tester you can get them even cheaper $2 /$5shipping.
There are clones with various names on them; they all have the model number BT189 on them.
