Had a good day today working out in the 52 degree weather with 15mph winds

Reminds me of living up north...

Shopnotes had some really simple and cheap folding sawhorses... yes, I know, more sawhorses, but honestly, can you ever have enough quick tables? IMHO, No!

Pretty cool. I like that sawhorse design. Appears sturdy, and takes up a lot less space than the stacking ones I did several years ago.

Ditto on the sawhorse design, especially the ability to be folded up and stored without using a lot of space. Look to be fairly solid and sturdy.

I like that sawhorse design...very simple, but effective. But, it takes two to table.

A quick warning about Shopnotes. It will give you ideas that turn into plans, that sometimes turn out the way you expect, but other times.... not so much.

Elaborate. Have you had a plan with bad measurements?

I notice that the plans tend to be overdone in some cases and sometimes complex, but I like the thought that goes into them.

Today was tear down of the small partition wall that was beside the ac's which was a storage shelf on one side and clamp rack on the reverse side. It originally start out a couple of years ago as a vertical plywood storage rack, but it didn't work out as my ceiling isn't high enough to swing full sheets.... and now with fluorescent's on the ceiling its even harder.

After tear out and trying to find some floor space to pile things temporarily, I moved the two new cabs into position on the floor and leveled them. The garage floor slopes away from the house so it took some extra shims for the second unit. Anchoring the units was going to be an issue since the condensate drains are behind them. I was able to plane down some high spots off a 2x4 and slip it behind the units at the very bottom. I anchored that to the masonry "ledge" which is actually the floor inside the house. This allowed me to put four screws per unit and made them exceptionally stiff.

Hopefully I can get some more work done this week.... the shop is such a mess.

The next thing I am working on in the layout is the proposed cabs above these units. As the floor slopes down and away from the house, the ceiling slopes up!!! I am using a level mind you and not just taking measurements

I have made some preliminary marks, but it looks like when I hang the cabs, there will be about a 5/8" gap between the cab top and ceiling at the rear of the cab, tapering to nothing as it comes to the front Luckily across the front of the run, there is no more than about an 1/8-3/16" gaps in some areas. Going to be fun hanging those

Got a few more in and still have a bunch of shelves to go. I really like organization and still being able to rapidly access often used tools!

Tomorrow, I will work on the bandsaw. When I received it the mag switch didn't work! Grizzly promptly sent out a replacement, so I need to wire that up and complete the final assembly. Maybe if I am good on time, I can do some more organization.
