Finally Completed the Dust collector install!

I finally completed the installation of the Grizzly G0548Z 2hp Dust Collector. It was quit a chore. I ran all the ducts as you saw before and I now have the Twin Trashcan Cyclone Separator. Everything seems to be working like a charm and I am very happy with the outcome. Just need to wire for Static Electricity.

    I've got to ask...

Why a twin trash can setup?

Well it's like this. I used SDR35 6" fittings inside the top can to make the separator and it didn't seem to leave much room for sawdust. So I got a brain toot and cut the bottom or then fabricated the insert you see at the bottom of the can and added a basement for the Saw Dust.

An interesting idea for sure. I have seen Thien separators using 6" S&D before, but always on a 55 gallon drum.

Let us know how well it works out for you. Remember, that baffle is there to keep the stuff from the bin from scrubbing back up anyway...

That's a clean job of piping and hanging you did there Gary. Good luck with the system. I use some of that 6" clear re-inforced on my cyclone. Good stuff!

            Great job!

Wow, all that room! Looks like fantasy-land to one who has to work in part of a garage -- a garage that has to revert back to a garage each winter.

Again, congratulations on the great job.

              great looking setup!

Altho I predict you'll have lot of fun changing the bag out with it backed into the corner like that... Generally takes about 4 hands and all-around access although I've found that some strong cylinder magnets can take the place of two hands...

Remember my friend that it is on wheels and with the separator it won't be filling very fast I suspect.

good points, there's enough flex hose to spin it around... so you have a winner!

I think it looks terrific. I especially like the way you took advantage of space that would otherwise be difficult to do anything with. Straddling the well like you did, you actually made it a little easier to empty the separator and fit everything in there in a sensible way.

It looks real good. Are there any more drops for other tools, or did you leave any room for further expansion ?
Awww forget trying to fix it!!!! Lets just drink beer

You can always expand with the system all you need is a saw and some SDR35 6" "Y's".

Would you believe that the end going into the can has a homemade reducer on it and I can slip it out any time I want. Makes it easy to move if I have to and easier to empty the can.
