Anybody mastered the PVC puzzle?

I took a different approach with my 2hp dust collector. I was able to use 6" PVC pipe for the main, and bought the 4" and 2 1/2" flex pipe adaptors. I then glued these to the 6" pipe. It has been working well for me.

The secret to making PVC work for you:

1. Load it all up in the truck.
2. Drive to where you got it.
3. Return it for a refund.
4. Drive to a well-stocked woodworking store.
5. Buy metal DC pipe and fittings.
6. Install.

Yes, I think we all hear you, Carlos. Unfortunately, many of us are notwithin reasonable driving distance of a woodworking store. My closest one is an hour away. Getting it all home and finding that you need just one more part leaves you in a real jamb. For all the pvc difficulties, once you have a method that works for you the closest supplier is usually just up the road. No flame intended, Carlos. It's just my observation. YMMV.

I do understand that. I guess my point is that PVC is truly a last resort in my opinion. I made a dozen trips for parts when building my system, so I know what you're saying. Luckily my well-stocked store is six miles away and on the way to many places I have to go regularly.

I too, would do the same if the availability was there.
