Your shop looks great. I have a long bank of cabinets somewhat like this (my uppers have no finish and my lowers have clear finish) but I put my radial arm saw and compound miter saw on the top. You could probably still do this. I also have a long fence and moveable stops with a tap measure and pointer. Really handy for crosscuts.

        Nice Job!!!

Did you make your face frames out of the Ply also, or are they solids?

If you did make them out of Ply, what method did you use to join them

I did use 3/4" Paint Grade Birch Plywood and I used pocket holes. I have the Kreg 2000 jig

These are the latest pictures, I have not had time to clean up since my last project because I had surgery on one of my wrists, but the floor is real easy to clean up. My LOML had an idea about painting the tool brand signs, I agreed. So she asked me for the pics of the signs and she painted them for me.

I hadn't read what you wrote on the last post and was about to ask where you snagged the signs. Read it now, she did an awesome job on the signs, the shop looks really good you did an amazing job on it!

I love the shop. It makes my area look like a junk yard.

                    rsjimenez:
Looks great! I really like how nice the signs turned out. Also, thanks for the follow up answer.

Two more quick questions for you.
                    * How did you attach your ply face frame to the carcass? Did you also use pocket holes or did you use gussets, or drill through the front face? If you used something other than pocket holes, can you take some close-up pictures so that I can visualize this in my mind?

                    * Your cabinet doors/drawers look like they have a roundover or an Ogee on the edge. I assume you made those out of 3/4" ply also. Do the edges of the ply look ok after they are painted? Again, can you provide a close up picture so that I can see?

Thanks very much! I really appreciate your pictures and the work you've done on your garage. It's truly inspiring.

Small shop, still working the issues

My one car "shop" is about 11' X 19' and I am doing all i can to maximize the space available. It is a challenge, but slowly but surely I am taming the beast. When my house was under construction I had the builder put a 240v 50 amp service to the 1 car. I have since added a subpanel and some recepticles. I did all of this with surface mount and conduit. Tonight, I just finished mounting the aircleaner to the overhead, installed a timer switch and recepticle for the "Test" overhead mounted air cleaner. I built it out of scrap ply, an old axial fan and 16" X 25" X 1" filters I had laying around. I had it on wheels for a while and moved it around alot. It just seems to get in the way most of the time. My original intent was to mount it to the overhead, it was just one of the projects I was unable to get around to. One note, it seems to work really good as the outer filters were pretty dirty. They do a good job at collecting any saw dust that is in the air. In the past I have had it running when I was doing different projects. I can tell it did a good job as the outside layer of the more expensive inner filters are the color of a finish I sprayed on a cabinet I built a while back.

I also think I have ADD, as I am unable to finish one project before I get engaged on another. It is just, as I am working one project I find that if there just wasn't so much dust, things were in better order, where did I lay that driver, etc, etc. I would be able to finish the existing project. Hopefully I will soon get orginized the way I want and stop getting distracted with other projects.

rick, what is an axial fan? could you post some pictures of it (from different side and also without the filters to see the inside)? i am planning on making one myself.

                        thanks a bundle!

They have an ogee and I think they look good enough for the garage with paint.
