It's not good to crosscut just the fingers off on the tablesaw with the box joint blades in there though. The offset teeth on the set will throw them everywhere, really hard and fast.

I use other means to cut them off now.

You could just tap them off with a sharp chisel.

OK, it wasn't really so hard to get .175 x .210" strips.
I took some 15" long stock (about 3/8" x 1.75") and rabbeted a 3/8" ledge from the skinny edge. I raised the rabbet bit until I had ~.175 left by my calipers.
I set the calipers to .205" and put one jaw on the outside edge of the wood; drew the calipers down the edge so that the inside jaw scribed a line .205 from the edge.
Then i took it to the bandsaw - I have an older Duginske fence (before they turned Kreg blue) with microadjuster, I put the edge against the fence and the left-most set tooth just outside of the scribed line.

      Finished strips: .172" x .206" - good enough.

      Thanks for your ideas.

If your only tool is a hammer, you tend to treat all problems as if they were nails.
