I built a doghouse 10 years ago using 1/4" ply / fiberglass / resin and paint for roof material. Very light, VERY strong. Unfortunately I did have ground contact with the runners, and the base rotted out. Just threw the remnants of it out 2 months ago.

Thank you everyone for the help. I'm almost done. As suggested, I used the t1-11 for the sides and plywood for the base/roof.
I wanted to use the suggested elastomeric roof coatings but the only colors that I could find were the white and silver that were mentioned. The person I'm making it for wants a dark color. There were a wide variety of colors online but nothing I could find locally at a convenient store.
OK, so I don't know if this was a good option... I used an asphalt coating on it. From what I've read this is used on flat roofs. Was this a decent option to use for weather conditions (in particular rain) and safe to use if animals decide to lay on top of it?Comment
