the slope down and to the center helps falling dust (when you beat or clean the top bags or canister) to go down to the bottom when the unit is off. If they slope down to the sides instead of the center then you'll build up a pile of dust.

If all you need to do is to invert the rings and attach the given supports (usually three) to the ring, drill some new holes and duct tape the old ones. For the new holes use some self tapping metal screws or some bolts and nuts. You may want to use a bit of silicone to seal them - dust will find its way out of the smallest paths and leave streaks on the outside of the ring.

I offer solutions and suggestions not because Jack can't read a manual but beacuse its fun and challenging to think about and try to explain how these things work. If i was annoyed, I'd not answer. Jacks a long time contributor here.

LOML is expecting a table to be repaired when she returns on Monday and the repair involves machining some wood, so I made a little test run this evening with the DC connected to the planer.

Success! Well, almost. There was some copper wire in the flex hose I was using for this particular connection and it got sucked through the impeller and into the bag - in smaller pieces. But there are chips in both bags and all seems to be working as it should.

Since I could not find suitable J-bolts without spending more money than I wanted to, I used a combination of bent fender washers, 1/4" bolts and 3x3/4x1/8 straps to fasten the canisters to the donuts.

Now I have to get the piping set up properly, but at least I can do a little work without making a huge mess.
