    Plywood Options

I live in Norfolk outside of Boston, MA and while I can squeeze some lumber in my car, sheet goods a problematic. Any internet place I've seen so far only offers smaller sheets.

I am looking to build more furniture and cabinet pieces so I'm looking for higher grade plywood than BORG/Lowes, (good birch, maple, cherry veneer etc) in 4x8 sizes.

Is there someplace local that someone can recommend, or a delivery option that won't break the bank.

    Thanks in advance, Phil

I'm in the same boat... lumberyard sells only 4x8 sheets for the most part. They offer free deliveries on orders over $750. Usually I bite the bullet and rent a home depot truck for about $20/hr, go to the lumber yard, and buy a few sheets. That requires a lot of pre planning of projects/finances though.

I'd love to see if someone has a reasonable roof car rack that actually works. Seems like all the roof racks nowadays are flimsy, expensive fashion accessories that would rip right off your roof from the breeze.

Did you read the recent (1 or 2 weeks ago) thread on how to get sheet goods home with a small car? Some of the suggestions could save you.

I've also been thinking about one of these, assuming they won't fall apart. Of course, then I need a trailer hitch and a license and a place to store it in an already crowded shop and...

Still, it's more cost-effective than renting a truck to pick up a few sheets of ply and it'll save wear and tear on the vehicles I currently use to pick up stick lumber.
