WTB - BT3K or Craftsman Variant - Dallas, TX

I’m looking to buy in the Dallas area. Haven’t had any luck on CL or FB, and trying not to drive too far or spend too much. This would be my first BT3K, so I’m not married to any particular model. It seems that the BT3100 would be a good route and I’m definitely intrigued by the portability of the Craftsman 21829. If anyone has a saw in my area they might part with, please send me a message.

I know of a BT3000 in N Dallas (Anna) but I know my son in law doesn't want to sell it.

    Welcome to The Sawdustzone.

There were a few members several years ago from the Dallas area but haven't heard from them in a while.

Here is hoping someone with a BT3x00 / Craftsman variant will chime in soon for you. Delightful saw. In all fairness, when I bought my saw, I drove from League City TX up to Lorena TX, which is about 1/2 way between Houston and Dallas... Some miles may be required...

There's one on Dallas Craigs list

but he's listing $450 OBO which is kind of high starting point to me.

You have to keep an eye out and you have to be used to spotting the appearance giveaway features of the various models... BT3000 look, BT3100, Craftsman 22811 and 21829
There are certain things that clue you in and there are many ads that don't give model numbers and have crappy photos.

Definitely the sliding miter table and its extended base is the distinguishing trademark visible feature of this set of saws.

Would you want another one as a spare or for parts? I have a BT3000, mostly complete, I would like to get rid of.
