WTB: BT Motor or Motor Assembly

Hi All - I'm posting this for a pending new member who's waiting for membership verification. Here's his request:

"Trying to find a complete motor assembly for my old BT3000 (13 amp, I believe) or a newer 15 amp motor if it will fit into my machine (has shims). I bought 2 motor brackets but neither will fit my motor as it needs a deeper recess for the fan on the motor. I bought these because my threads on the aluminum motor bracket stripped.

p.s. the older model's screw has a different pitch to it than the new ones. I have both, but as stated I need the options above or buy a cheap donor saw."

PM me if you've got something for him, and I'll forward the info.

    TIA...

I missed one last week. I KNEW I should have grabbed it. A pretty clean BT3100 that was missing the SMT. I should have grabbed it and parted it out... Stupid stupid stupid....

Thanks to Knotscott for putting this request up for me. I think what I need now is a 15 amp motor with or without the bracket (as I have 2 of them) or a donor saw with the 15 amp motor.
      Thanks,
      Bill

The motor on my BT3000 just went out, so I am in the market for a motor also. Of course, BCinPhx gets to take the offer first.

Does anybody know if the motor from a newer Ryobi saw such as the BTS10 or BTS15 can be mounted on the BT-3000?

i would think not, those saws are quite different in construction from the BT3s.

However amount of time is required for a staff member to notice that there is a post that needs moderation. Currently there are only three of us, 2 in the Eastern Time Zone and myself on West Coast time (Pacific Time).

Has anyone ever looked into a helicoil to repair a problem such as stripped out threads? I don't know the way that all looks as I havent had a problem (knock on wood). I know that I bought one for a sshop tool some time ago, and I only bought 1. Just a thought

I haven't used one on my table saw, but I have used Helicoil in the past. It's a pretty solid fix. I used them on cylinder head / valve cover bolt bores before and they held up for years with no problems...

Same here, as well as on aluminum intake manifolds. I always ended up wanting to get that Holley on there too tight.

There's a few threads on these forums about doing a helicoil on the raising mechanism for the BTs.

                              Done -

There is a BIG difference in the cutting power of the 15 amp motor over the older 13 amp one !! It's all back together now and working fine.....thanks to all.

You can kill this one now.
