Suggestions on finding a BT3100 will be warmly received. My location is central Oregon coast.

The earliest ones had a 13 amp motor. You want the 15 amp one.
Look for completeness of the package and options - sliding miter table with fence is mandatory, and it's nice to have the hold-down gizmo.
It can be useful to have the dual miter slot table(s).
The router mounting kit can also be useful if you're just getting started in woodworking, especially the mounting plate. Also look for the two fences and a dust collection chute.
The wide table kit would be great to have, if you have the room for it. Also the outfeed table.
The casters are practically useless.
The dust collection bag doesn't have a lot of utility, but the little elbow connector might be good to have.
Oh yeah, there are some quare black t-nuts that go in the grooves on the fences which can be helpful for mounting jigs, featherboards and the like.

JR ... Just took and shower and came back to find your very welcome detailed post.
The seller is about 5 hours from here. He hasn't responded to my contact yet. But, I'll post him to ask about the motor size and touch on the other items.
Thank you for your fast reply, JR.Comment

If you find a good deal on a used one, might also think about buying the
dual slot miter tables for the saw. This is a nice accessory for the saw that
will come in handy for using a regular type miter gauge. I have the dual slots
on both sides of the blade on my saw....and like it a lot better this way.
Another thing you will probably look for is a half set of rails...to extend the
capacity of the saw for wide crosscutting, that way you wouldn't have to
slide your rail set back and forth to change it.
Also, if you do find one locally...and you can check it out first hand, be sure and check the blade raise and tilt wheel mechanism, would not want to buy one that has been abused and someone didn't know the proper procedure
for raising the blade, could have a bad shim set. Also, try and get an owners manual.....it will come in handy if you need to make adjustments or need to order any replacement parts for the saw.
The stock blade guard is not much better than junk in my opinion...better
off buying a sharkguard/ splitter from Lee Styron....you will like this...it is first quality stuff as far as I'm concerned.
My .02 worth here....but hope it helps avoid future problems for you....

Mehranh, you are a bit distant from Florence, OR. My daughter lives in Santa Cruz, but we just spent a couple of days with her in Arkansas. Otherwise, Judith could easily be swayed in into stopping briefly in SF.
Now, if you are just itching to visit beautiful Eureka in November ...Comment

1. Yes, Seattle is a realistic trip. We have a need to go to Portland sometime soon.
2. eezlock, thanks for the details and warning about the wheel tilt-raise issue.
What would be a valid test of the mechanism, me wonders?
3. It is encouraging to learn you are seeing BT3100 selling frequently in the Northwest.
FYI ... I read somewhere about a cult of BT3K owners. I suppose I should be on the lookoutComment
