    Passed inspection

The building inspector was just here and passed the final inspection on the remodel of 1/3rd of our house. 16 months of nights and weekends. I still need to build doors and drawers for the bathroom cabinets, and then negotiate with LOML on which project to tackle next.

I'm hoping that she's tired enough of the mess and storing materials in the living room that the Garage will be the next project. My guess would be we'll start on the kitchen / dining room, biggest budget but least amount of work.

A random collection of photos is here...

Congratulations on a job will done!

The work you and your family have done so far looks great. And one of the pictures I liked was 1031, your daughter with her leg in the wall! With their help I amagine that it made the project easier for you. If your loyl is like mine, she'll want the kitchen to be next. We started back in January this year on our kitchen because loml said THAT was the priority. Keep us updated on your remodeling, it looks great.

Looking good, a lot of work, but worth the effort. Bill

That looks very nice and your daughters did work hard on this. When mine are teenagers I hope they want to work around the house with me but right now I doubt they will. One doesn't like noise and the other doesn't like getting dirty.

Reach around and pat yourself on the back! I know of many 'professionals' who fail to pass a remodel inspection on the first time around.

I started them early. When they were 5 and 4 and 4 we finished the basement in our last house. I had them each connect a wire in all the outlets in the toy room. I don't remember who did what except Shannon (the wall kicker, that's my favorite picture also) who connected all the grounds because those wires were pretty. They also put on the cover plates. There were only 12 outlets but it took them hours.

They bragged for years about wiring the basement.
