Cordless light for shed

I mounted a regular 4' fluorescent in a plastic tube over my shed door and a halogen outdoor in the soffit, took an extension cord and cut off the female end. Put an outdoor box with a cover at the corner near the house and ran the cord up to the lights. I keep the plug in the box and when I need light I drag a 50' cord from the garage to the shed and plug it in.

My 5th wheel trailer has numerous 12v lights, some of which may be bright enough for your needs. You might want to check out an RV store or better yet the internet for these types of fixtures.

Harbor Freight, Samsclub, RV Parts & Accessories Dealers, Hunting Supply houses pretty much all will carry solar powered light kits for use in sheds, trailers, bunkhouses, etc... I don't recall the panel size / bulb output equations I have once seen, but basically there are kits that will offer baiscally a solar battery charger, that hooks to a 6 or 12V battery, which in turn connects to a fixture.

I have used a setup which runs basically 2 single bulb 4' tube fixtures (they are 12V specifics, don't recall, but they came from an RV shop). They produced enough light to get what you need from the shed.

That was going to be my plan of attack with the new shed since I don't want to run electric out to it...
