    Info needed...

Good morning, all.....I am building a table for my drill press. I've never installed T-Track before, and am curious about the sizes. Should I uses the 3/8", 1/4", or mini T-Track? The closest thing we have to a woodworking store around here is Lowes and Home Depot....can't remember seeing any in either, so I will have to order, without any hands on first....

I really like this site.....lots of good info here....thanks.....

Cabinetman is on the right track (pun intended...)

I have the entire kit not just the track. You are going to want the T bolts and star knobs as wel..
Rockler puts these sets on sale pretty often for about $20.00. I stocked up, or more correctly, my lovely wife stocked me up for my B-day this year. I REALLY need to use more of it than I have...

You should be alert to the fact that not all T-bolts fit into all T-track slots, especially when buying from different sources. I have had to do a little filing from time to time to make T-bolts fit -- a minor annoyance rather than a serious problem.

          Regards, Steve

i find it most convenient if the t-track takes 1/4-20 hex head bolts. The new t-track from rockler (that cab man linked to) does. Most do but a few don't.

If your only tool is a hammer, you tend to treat all problems as if they were nails.

If you're ordering from Rockler online, try using promo code V9770 for a 20% discount on one regular-priced item (some other restrictions apply, but it should work for the miter track).

Woodpeckers has some neat tracks and fixtures. http://www.woodpeck.com/dptrackkit.html

I picked up a couple lengths of some Incra track from Woodcraft for my intended drill press table. I liked the T-Trak plus with the integral rule. http://www.woodcraft.com/family.aspx?familyid=3911

Looks like the same table sold by griz and MLCS for a similar low price.

I think I sold mine to DBHOST. OK, not great.

Consider also the t-slot router bit. I've never used a single piece of aluminum t-track, I just route my slots right into my tables. Works great, fast, inexpensive. And it is stronger than you'd think, maybe even stronger than the aluminum t-track because you aren't relying on the small wood screws that hold the aluminum track in place.
