    Toy Box Desk for grandson

I modified a plan I got from Woodcraft.

I built it primarily out of very old long leaf pine although the desk top is new lumber to provide a smoother surface.

Finished with gel poly and then topped with water based poly several coats for hardness and durability.

Bill, thank you. The "design" per se is not mine as I stated, but I was asked to 'build an antique toy box'. That made it more of a challenge than just a box.

Very cool. I really like the dual purpose. What's old is new again.

great toy box. Just make sure there's no pinch points. Looks like the lid has anti-drop supports. Make sure the seatback/desk doesn't have a pinch point between the seatback and the seat when folded.

Great looking toy box / desk. With 2 young grandsons I'll have to keep this in the back of my mind.
