I'm running out of ideas.
This one was made for my sister's 70th Birthday, her first name is Iris, so I named the box I-70. I know that a highway somewhere.
Anyway, the box is made out of Black & White Ebony (which I'll probably never work with again). Ten minutes after cutting it to size, all the pieces cupped, one heck of an expensive lesson. At least I had more, so I did it again and immediately glued up the carcass. This time, no warp. Now I know why if comes completely covered in wax..
The legs and the drawer front are African Blackwood and the top is Bloodwood.
The pull on the drawer front is Tagua nut. Really nifty stuff, cuts with a handsaw and it polishes up (buffed) smooth. Looks and feels like Ivory. The nuts are about the size of a golf ball nd cost about $1.00 each.
For what its worth, here are the photos.
Thanks for looking
Bruce
