Beautiful job Andy. As pleasing to look at as it is unique.
I'm interested in the method of joining the sides to the top and base. Dados? M&T?

Why doesn't the word 'planing' show up in my computer spell check?

Glued up the top/bottom from a couple pieces of figured birdseye maple then cut to size 8 1/4 x 14, then ripped a 1 1/4" piece off the front for the curved piece. Cut 1/4" dadoes 1/4" deep 1/4" from the sides front to back on the remaining 7" piece. 1/4" rabbit along the back stopped at the dadoes. Cut the curves in the pieces that were ripped then glued the curved fronts back on. Sides are 6 7/8" x 7" x 1/2" cherry with 1/4" rabbits top/bottom and back. Drawers are 1/4" maple, rabbits on bottom and along sides of the side pieces to accommodate the front/back pieces. Finished with a coat of Seal-a-cell then I put on three coats of satin Arm-r-seal as I don't usually like glossy finishes, but the birdseye wasn't really popping, so I added two coats of gloss arm-r-seal.

Here's an even crappier cellphone pic with a drawer open. Gotta find my camera for the next project.

Very nice... Saw that plan in, I think it was Wood Magazine. First one of those I have seen. Beautiful...
