    Floor Vents

A neighbor of mine does handy man work and had installed a cherry wood floor for a client. When he was done he had a bunch of left over flooring and asked if I could make floor vents out the the ramaing wood that would match the floor.

That's a nice touch...well done. There might be a good demand for those.

My neighbor asked me if I can make more. I kept all the measurments and all the spacer. There might be more requests.

You might consider getting in touch with the flooring contractors in your area. This could turn into a nice side job for you. If you built it up a bit, a small CNC router setup with the various stock grille sizes programmed into it could be in your future.

What he said! If you can find a good price point for them, they would definitely be desired by upscale flooring installers.
I can't imagine anyone goinig for plastic or aluminum after seeing those. Beautiful work!

And the thing is, there are dozens of different wood types used in floor panels, and a pre-made grille, no matter how nice, will never match them all. Fabricating from the same wood that was used on the floor is key.

That isn't laminated flooring is it? I'm wondering how you could work with the laminated stuff. particularly the effect of that Aluminum Oxide surface coating on saw blades & router bits...
