    Hardware Storage Cabinet

Well, after being a World Class Lurker I thought I would post my latest completed project. I took the plans from a Shop Notes magazine . I was spending too much time looking for hardware, fasteners etc. so some form of storage seemed like a good idea. Now I just have to find some printable labels and get it all sorted out properly. My next project will be to tackle drill bit storage . Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Get a Brother P-Touch Labeller. Even the cheap ones make nice labels. The better ones are not that expensive and offer PC USB connectivity and tape width up to 1"
I have the PT1280 which is a middle line unit.
Tapes run about $10 and I have not yet used one up, Start with 1/2" black on white. Later get 1/2" black on clear (this would llook great on your green bins), both very much used. I also find 1/2" white on black is useful for electronics. Comes in many other colors and widths.

    Nicely featured labeller for $32

    cheaper and smaller ($18):

These are a million miles ahead of those old Dymo label makers. and those ones with the big 12" wheels. Give you very professional looking work.

Very nice indeed. It beats the plastic drawers I have screwed to my wall. I second the recommendation on the P-Touch. I got one free with a Brother laser printer and never thought I'd use it. I've found it to be indispensable.

Nice project for the hardware. And a third vote for the P-Touch.

+1 Loring's suggestion on the Brother label printers.

I just wish they didn't waste so much tape at the beginning/end of the label.

Excellent job. Now you have no excuses for not being able to find the screw, nut, etc.

Very nice! I like it - you can close everything up in the cabinet, and you still have the ability to remove a bin when you're working on a project.

I agree about the P-touch, we have one at work for labeling files.
