        Thanks for all the comments. My parents loved it...amazed that I actually made it. Very good reaction.

        The clock was actually pretty easy to make, I thought. The most difficult part for me was making the mortises in the base for the body of the clock to fit in. I had never done this before. The only other difficulty was having to make the base twice! The last machining operation was routing the round over, and when I did the router took a chuck of wood out. Arg!

        The clock face (and wood too) were purchased from Rockler.
