First; thanks for all the advice on "which wood" and sub-miniature lamps.
Second; be kind, as aside from a maple butcher block counter top, this is my first attempt at hardwood.
Third; I have learned a lot from all the miscues. Since starting this I have acquired a jointer and a biscuit joiner, so I most likely will do things differently in the future.
Fourth; I used a joining technique which I would call false finger joint. The fingers being walnut. The carcass itself is mahogany.
