    Alex,

What was the issue of Wood Magazine that had that? Do they have the plans available still? I REALLY want to start with that and make sure it will fit all my benchtop stuff. I need storage to fit the following...

    Compound Miter Saw,
Benchtop Jointer (Sunhill SM150B, not in my posesion yet)
Oscillating Sander (Same one as your Ridgid, getting that this upcoming payday)
Bench Grinder. (I rarely use it, and it is in the way permanently mounted to the bench).
Vermont American Drill Press. (More frequent use than the grinder, but still in the way more often than not).
Bench vise (Fairly frequent use, but again, in the way when I am using the bench for other stuff...)
Plus I like the clamp storage idea, that would get my clamps off my walls, and allow me to drop the DC plumbing sooner, and get some cabinets on the walls instead...

Found the plans online. They are a purchase item, but not too expensive...
I see the dimensions need to be tweaked a little bit if I am to fit a benchtop jointer in it as it is only 28" wide, and I believe the Sunhill Benchtop jointer is 29" wide... I figure stretching everything sideways 2 - 3" will cure that particular problem...

The issue was Oct. 2007 Issue 179. It's on pages 32-36.

If I had more room, I'd buy more tools!

Hey there -- just back from vacation, so I'm sorry I didn't reply sooner.

I don't think you'll really need the plans actually -- I didn't use them either. . . .just looked at the picture. I measured all the tools for a custom fit, so all the dimensions are different in any case. I'll post a couple close-ups in a bit if you want me to.

The more pics of the detail on how it goes together the better...

I have an idea, but I want to see the joinery and such...

Well, as they say, better late than never. Truth is I forgot all about this until someone on another forum started asking questions about this project. So I looked it up here and noticed that I left you out in the cold! (and it's been pretty darn cold out there lately!)

Two angles... The pegboard is set into grooves that were cut in the centers of the 2x4's before it was all assembled (clearly).

These hooks hold two of the roller stands.

              It's pretty much all half-laps.

The spring clamps are on a 1/2" MDF scrap that I notched for a couple pieces of scrap pine. I glued in the pine, and screwed them into the MDF from the back, then screwed them onto the side of the rack.

A bunch of my cheap but incredibly useful clamps go on two sets of these racks. I used a dado blade to notch them out so the bars just fit.

The shelf rails are not adjustable. Well, unless I want to unscrew then and move them. You can also see here how I mounted the tools. I used a dremel tool to saw off the ends of the bolts.

There more scrap pine glued to the bottom corners to help support the wheels.

That looks awesome!! That was what I am planning to build in the next few weeks. Where did you get the casters? Did you build the smaller tool holder cabinet as well?
