    Rip fence roller holder parts

Those of you needing to replace missing broken parts of the rip fence rear rail roller here are some sizes of original Ryobi parts.
Click image for larger version Name:	BT3000 rip fence parts diagram.png Views:	30 Size:	9.7 KB ID:	856841

The roller wheel 13 is 0.8215" O.D. with a .250" ID. and 0.360" wide; the original is plastic. But I am sure once machined or lathed or woodworked from aluminum, nylon, delrin or hardwood would work fine.

The Roller Axle 23 is a 1/4" rod, 0.248" diameter and 0.679" long. original is steel. Make a replacement from steel or aluminum rod cut to approximate length will work.

The 1/4" split Roll pin 14, they are available standard part in hardware stores. 1/4" split steel rollpin 1.50" long. They are sprung and have to be driven in usually.

    lots of pictures

In your first pic, part #13, the roller itself, appears to be machined aluminum. Where is that from? Do you have one like that and if so where did you get it and how do you like it? I am not convinced my roller is any good since the pin isn't in it, and may need a roller, which sadly is a deprecated part, and I am 100% certain my 3D printer will not print smoothly enough to produce a useable part for that... Again no clue when this happened, just last few times I used the saw the back of the fence had been dragging, this explains that behavior...

That photo was from eBay ad of the guy selling replacement metal roller holder ($50 bucks), complete with all parts. I added the arrows and callout numbers
      Mine are all plastic.
Short of cracking, I have a hard time seeing a plastic roller failing.

Got calipers? What's the OD and ID and width of your roller wheel. I listed dimensions in the first post in this thread.

Try it and see. If its close, just use a center punch and ping the side of the axle a little to make it a snug fit.

FWIW I switched from HF calipers to the Home Depot Husky calipers... costs more but the HF ones kept failing after time, and the Husky has a lifetime warranty.
Pleased so far after about a year. Does not Seem to be eating batteries like the HF either.

My Neiko caliper has been fantastic for 15 years, it fell victim to an angry cat. I could probably clean it up but at the price of a new one, nope...

the point is moot. I got with the ebay seller, and he is sending me the roller. I will do a video on fixing up my old fence with the new roller and holder so folks have a sort of howto on it, and will actually share it with the sller so he has some material for potential buyers... Aside from the lack of the blade brake, the herky jerky of my fence, which started only somewhat recently is really what annoyed me about the BT, If this thing pans out as smooth as the seller claims, I will likely be back to beyond thrilled with my BT and lose the interest in a SawStop, especially if someone eventually comes up with a retrofittable blade brake of some sort...

So the new caliper is here, although a rather moot point right now. The Ebay seller that sells the bracket is sending along a roller. I now have a problem. I ordered a loaded clamper / roller as well just in case I couldn't source up the missing or worn pieces. I am going to load the bare one with the new roller etc... and carry over my existing clamper. Not sure if I am going to install that one, or the pre loaded one, but one of them will install in the fence, the other will go into my saw spares. HOWEVER this might be a moot point. I mean how likely is it that I will ever wear out or break the aluminum roller / clamper bracket or roller which seem to be the pieces likely to fail. I guess the clamper itself but I don't lean into the lever so not likely there...

I guess I should finish cleaning the saw off / up, get the glue off of the aluminum (that was Larrys doing, it came pre-glued) polish up the top some and get it slicker 'n snot and get back to having a good run with it...

Was going to go to Home Depot and get some 2x4s for the sharpening station tonight, and the rain that was supposed to start later tomorrow apparently got an earlier flight than expected. NOT happy about that...
