    Date Of My BT3100

Tried to find this in FAQ, but it wouldn't come up. I'm sure this has probably been discussed on here many times, but again I couldn't find it so please help a brother out. How do I come up with the age or date of my BT3100s. I have two and noticed slight variations in them. Thank you in advance.

Bt3000 had a 4 digit date code on the nameplate. Probably the bt3100 similar. I'll post some pics when I get to my desktop.

OK Here is a Nameplate off a 2000 model BT3000
Click image for larger version Name:	BT3000 serial number 2000 year model.jpg Views:	0 Size:	57.6 KB ID:	859434
Its located on the right side of the saw, towards the front, next to the power wires and outlet.
The nameplate lists the manufacturer, the part number and some basic specifications including rated Volts, max current and RPM.

The serial number is printed and in the same whitespace the four digit date code is 0020 in this case
which is YYWW format which means last two digits of the year and two digit week of the year code.
THis saw was made year 2000 in the 20th week which is like Early May.

I don't have any examples of the BT3100, if you can take a picture please post it, Otherwise I understand the BT3100 was similar to the BT3000 except the serial number and date code were run together with no white space in between, and the first four digits are the date code, not the last.

It would be nice if someone posted a picture of a BT3100 Nameplate and a Craftsman 21829 and 22811 nameplate as well.
I have a file of BT related info. I'd like some examples.

Mangorockfish, did my explanation solve your problem? Can you take a picture of it for me?

It is not obvious what the date code is or where it is located. I was hoping to learn this secret! Thanks for your pic anyway. I appreciate it.
I can decode the Sears part numbers... 315. is the code for manufactured by Ryobi. 22811 is the model number and they always tack on an extra digit, usually zero but sometimes it is a number denote a sub kit for the main part number.
