    My next silly question. Riving knife with sleds and such.

    With my new to me saw and box of goodies there is the knife part of a blade shield. Has anyone ever cut it down to use with cross cut sleds ? If so, how?

    The short answer is yes, and a description of how it was done with pictures is in the thread linked below.

    I've been bugged about the relative chore of installing and removing the stock blade guard on my 21829 (BT3 clone) when switching between ripping and using my crosscut sled. I wanted the ease of removing the guard and having the Riving Knife stay put, a la Sharkguard, but already had a spare RK unit so decided to modify it and

      Yes I use the stytooner style cut down knife and shark guard all the time. Mostly just the knife.
