I think this is the pair for $38- different part number, but says it fits the 21829 saw.
    Anybody seen this part number?

I asked the plastics faculty - solvents for poly are acetone, Methylene Chloride (old school paint remover), and gasoline. They suggested trying them in that order - and do it outside, wear protection equipment, and be careful, since all are very flammable.

Good info, woodturner, but one small quibble. Methylene chloride (dichloromethane), while an excellent solvent and quite volatile, is not particularly flammable. It can be a health risk, though, so should be used only with good ventilation.

those are listed in order of nastyness.
I'd try them in that order. Stop when you find one that works good enough.
I wouldn't mix them together! (altho that might work the best?)

              Bought!

I just grabbed that 2-pack from Amazon for insurance. My original belt lasted many years... until my dad jammed the blade and, being his first time with my saw, panic made the location of the power switch leave his mind.

$38 w/ free shipping. Thanks or the heads-up, guys!

These are what I bought, and from what I've gathered here they will work on both the 3000 and 3100.

I use "ereplacementparts.com" for spare shims and such, about the same price as sears but I find the shipping far more reasonable. They are great to deal with.

I have a like new 21829 to sell. Does this make the value go up or down.
