Bevel Dial Slipping

The Bevel Dial on my BTS15 is slipping when returning to 90 degrees. I know I need to give it a good cleanout, but didn't know if anything else could be wrong. The gears are meshed together fine, but I get resistance and the dial starts to spin.

Any thoughts?

It looks like I'll be upgrading to a new to me saw tonight. I'll post about the gloat once the deal is made. But I need to get this one cleaned up to resell.

I think you might have nailed it down... Clean it up... Make sure that everything is clean, and nothing is stripped...

Shep, sounds like that may be the problem....but...I'm thinking that at some point in time you may have tilted the blade without releasing the lock lever
first. If you did that, you may have stripped the gear that allows the saw to tilt
for angular cuts.If that is the case...you will see it when you get into the saw
for sure...it will require a repair to remedy the situation.
