    BT3000 rip fence flexing

I haven't had this happen in the past, but this is the first time in a long time that I have used a feather board. I had a feather board clamped to the SMT holding some small pieces against the rip fence. As I was running the work, I noticed an inconsistency in the cuts and that is when I saw the rip fence flexing with the hold down pressure from the feather board. Is this a common occurrence or do I have something out of whack?

I released some of the tension on the feather board, which seemed to help a little but now I do not get the holding pressure I was really wanting.

    Thanks.
    Dave

Have you got the rear clamper adjusted correctly? It sounds like it might be a little loose.

the rear lock on your rip fence is not working right.
operation is discussed in my FAQ (see sig line below).

Yeah, it has to be the rear clamp. If everything is working properly you can't flex that fence.

I took a look at the BT3 FAQ along with the manual. I checked the rear clamp on the saw, the clamp was not locking down. I adjusted the screw and ended up tightening all the way, and still have some flexing. I am going back out to see if I can fiddle with it a bit more, just wanted to see if I could get any ideas as to why this was happening.
