Hi guys,
I first thought about getting a BT3100 some 2 years ago, when I first joined this forum. I was lucky enough to visit Rod Kirby's Operating Theatre and spent a pleasant afternoon chatting to him. I loved his shop and equipment. Unfortunately it turned out that my then small garage would not fit similar stuff in. Then the proverbial marital disaster occured that meant any ideas of new tools would have to go on the backburner.
Now living in rented accomodation means having something small and easy to move brought the BT3100 back into contention. I work on a casual basis at Australia's Bunnings, which currently stocks the saw. Last night I got a small bonus and decided to check up on the staff price of the BT3100, and whilst at the computer my boss came by, I noticed that a "flag" had been set on the item which means that it will soon go on clearance. As my store only had one unit , he offered it to me at the proverbial "to good to be true" price. I couldn't get it outa there fast enough before he changed his mind....Sometimes it's nice to be well thought of by the boss!!!
I now have sitting in the back of my small hatchback, a brand new, "in the sealed box" BT3100K complete with all the accessories awaiting unpacking over the weekend. People in Australia might want to be on the lookout for a bargain or two in the next couple of months in Australia when they go on clearance....
cheers
Gary
