    router mounting kit problem

I just purchased the accessory kit from Home depot. The only way to get is seems to be via online

while setting up the router kit I have found that one of the 5 flat t-nuts are not threaded correctly. all the others work fine, but this one won't take the bolts.

I have already left an email with both Ryobi tools and home depot, I really don't want to mail the whole thing back for that one piece.

I wanted to check to see if anyone knew if this is a piece I could pick up elsewhere? as long as I don't get hammered on shipping, I would drop a few bucks to get one

    thanks

Have patience, Grasshopper. Strong possibility that one of the forum members will have one laying around that will find its way to your mailbox.

Somebody will probably fix you up. There's always T-nuts.com too. Those are much better than the stamped steel ones. Be sure to take the link from the BT home page. You could always tap it too.

Good luck using the Ryobi router fence. I found it quite lacking. You'll probably end up making a better one yourself soon.

If there is enough steel there, chase those threads!

If, like you say, you don't mind spending a few bucks, I second db's advice -- get a tap of that size and clean up the threads. If you're at all into making jigs/fixtures, that's a size you'll get use out of down the road.

But, I'm sure a call to Ryobi will fix you right up, too. I would expect they would just ship you the part free of charge. But it might take a week to get it. Personally, I'd do this even if I was going to get a tap. You'll come up with plenty more uses for these parts.

          Regards,
          Tom

the fastest and simplest way will be to chase the threads with the proper tap as others have suggested. I'm sure that will fix any problem.
Offhand I don't recall the tap size needed.
