the BT3000 was introduced in 1992-93 for as much as $500-600
Prices had dropped to about $400 by the time the BT3100 was intro'd around 2001-2002. Prices droppped further to $300 by the end of production 2005-6 and there was short time clearance sales from HD for around $250.
There were a number of Ryobi accessories which could have pushed the purchase price much higher, they were not too common with the BT3100 as with the BT3000. The main accessory sold with the BT3100 was the accessory kit for around $100 and for a while the BT3100 saws were sold with a rebate coupon for a free accessory kit.
A fair price for a good condition BT3100 would be no more than $200.00, and that really ought to have a few extras thrown in for good measure.
For what its worth, mine came with a shark guard, wide table kit, a mess of throat plates, a shop built mobile base which I use, a shop built router fence which has since been replaced (the shop built job flexed too much), and a shop built dust collection belly pan. Not to mention a bag full of T nuts and knobs... Mine was in "needed some cosmetic TLC" condition. It was exposed to water and heat at one point in its life and needed to be cleaned up and a couple of plastic pieces replaced.
If I were to find a similar condition saw without the extras, I would be hard pressed to pay more than $125.00
I paid $150 for mine new from HD, with the $50 rebate . I know this really adds nothing to this conversation, but I feel I need to brag about my gloat now and again .
Where do you live. I am selling mine BT3100 either pieces or whole. I also have the accessory kit. This unit needs to go because I just purchased a Ridgid TS3660.
