Need to replace the motor on my BT3100

The motor burned out on my BT 3100 table saw. I live in Central Florida. Does anyone know where I can purchase a replacement motor?

new motors from Ryobi or their distributors will run you about $180 or so.
best bet is to wait patiently - used motors from parted out saws will run you around $50-60 and can be found in the classifieds here and on eBay. Sometimes whole saws in modest condition/missing parts can be found on Craig's list for under $100.
remember, motors from BT3000, BT3100, and Sears 22811 saws are pretty much interchangeable.

If your only tool is a hammer, you tend to treat all problems as if they were nails.

The only one you probably should avoid completely is the 13-amp motor from the early BT3000's...

Have you thought about having the motor repaired? I would check into an electric motor repair shop in your area. They may be able to rebuild/repair your motor cheaper than buying a new one. Just a thought...might save a few bucks here and there .........eezlock

That suggestion has been around a while and is in the FAQ. But has anyone successfully done that? I don't recall hearing it done or a price.

If you do attempt this you need to call motor shops and tell them you have a 15A universal motor that needs rewinding and see if they can do it and for how much.

I checked Sears.com for a 22811 saw but the only related item were legs for it. Icould not find the saw or how to order a motor on their site.

The motor is "trashed". There were most of the armature was in pieces inside the housing when I took it apart.

I don't think it is repairable. The amature is in pieces and no longer attached to the shaft.
