Dropped SMT and broke plastic slides

I just bought a BT3100. I was moving the rails with the SMT loose and moved the rails too far and the SMT dropped to the ground breaking the plastic slides that holds the slide top on.

Lesson learned: When moving the rails, remove all moveable parts, adjust the rails, then replace the tables!

I have order new replacement top and bottom SMT slides.

    Now what?

Can anyone walk me through installing the slides to the table? I love the saw and would like to reclaim the SMT. Any help would be most welcome.

    Thanks,

    Bill

Check out the "Articles" section on the Home page of this site. There is one devoted specifically to the SMT and I believe a couple of others that talk about alignment for everything.

Good Luck. I broke mine about 3 months back. Kinda ridculous to have so much hassle over a $.49 part.

Yep. Been a Bama fan my whole life. In fact, my grandfather used to go to games back in the 30's. Graduated in 1993. My wife graduated in 1995. My kids all think "Roll Tide" is a common substitute for "hello".

Mark: Thanks for the reply. The articles are on "adjusting" the SMT. I need to know how to assemble an SMT.
          Any ideas?

          Thanks,

i think the slides are reversible, if you break them you can turn them around and use em that way.
I just recall this, never done it myself.

I downloaded a pdf copy of the manual. It had an exploded diagram of the SMT. Just used that to reassemble. Only tools were a screwdriver and a socket wrench. Good Luck.
