Can you help to identify this part?

What is the part? I think it fell when I was disassembling the blade
guard assembly when I was working on ZCTP. Where does this
    go? Thanks

It does but I'm not sure how it ended up below my saw. Just previously. I disassembled the blade guard including the shims...

Did you buy the saw new? If so, maybe someone used it as a shim. Like the boss said, it sure looks like a single sided razor blade.

yes, brand new saw. I have two utility knifes and never changed blades on them. At that time I was working on the saw, they were in my tool bag.

It does not have any holes as other shims. So, got confused..

              Fortunately...

It fell out and didn't get lodged in the mechanisim somewhere. According to one wood finisher I know, it is a scraper for removing drips and runs in varnish finishes. They can be had in packs of 10 to 100 at most hardware stores.

                        it is not double edged.
That folded cover opposite the sharp edge in your pic, marked Made in China, makes it single edged.
If that wasn't there, there can be a second edge exposed, and it would be double edged. In a double edged razor blade holder, you would use the double edged blade, and cut your beard. When the blade got dull, use the new edge by twirling the razor 180 degrees.

In industrial and hobby work, the double edge is dangerous and not much use. Single edged blades are always used in that application.

You can buy holders to make these into scrapers and other holders to make it into a cutter similar to the those retractable cutters witht he replaceable blades.

In this pic, a Doble-edged razor blade is just to the lower right of center.
A single edged blade ist about at 10-o'clock.

Here's a classic Double edged razor blade.

Hey guys, maybe he has foiled a terrorist plot by finding this single edge blade that was meant to be retreived later by the evil doer and wrecking havoc at the BORG. Remember the box cutters.

I think the guys at the factory were cutting lines and I don't mean lines on wood.

I figured it was one of them new-fangled super-thin-kerf saw blades...

It's amazing how old I must be to remember when I used to shave with a freakin' double-edged blade...
...eight, nine, TEN! Yep! Still got all my fingers!
