Yeah, I can see why people are complaining about the "Made in China" blades now. You won't be doing much ripping with that

That's true, Pappy. In those days, everybody knew what a styptic pencil was.

                      Dang! Me too

When I was a youngster (18 y/o), I shaved with my Step-Dad's Straight Razor! He used to complain that my beard was so tuff that he had to re-hone it after I was done.

Then, when I left home, I started using a "Safety Razor". Not near as sharp as a professinally honed Straight Razor (my Step-Dad was a Barber by trade).

When I got older, my beard turned to pig-bristles... I gave up on the razor. Now I use a belt sander!!

Easy on safety razors. I tried shaving my beard with the most expensive electric razor, with few of those double-triple-quad blade machs and quattros and finally settled for the safety razor. That is what I use now after trying everything else. Good double edge blades are getting hard to find - thanks goodness for the Willkinson Sword (made of surgical steel by a big name pharmaceutical) for $.20 per blade - a lot cheaper that Gillette or Norelco. I think all other expensive razors are a conspiracy by Madison Avenue just like the furniture care chemicals.

Sure, give you the razor and soak you for the blades. Like so many other products where the money is in the consumables.
