    Free Irwin Blade

I wouldn't be too hard on the Lowe's clerks. They ran this promo at my local Lowes last year and the display box was incredibly vague. No coupon, no way to verify if you left a blade to get credit at checkout. I went in twice with old blades and got the free Irwins but the cashiers sure were puzzled. And these are hardly $12 blades. You'd think Irwin would have
gotten some feedback from Lowe's and fixed this if they were going to run it again.

Wouldn't it be up to the managers to keep the staff up on current sales and promotions? Or are all the "managers" just worker bees who get bumped up to a salary rather than hourly?
Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler

One of the posts above mentioned that the promotion started April 1, so I stopped by Lowes today. Tool department was deserted- no clerks, and I couldn't see any promotions- checked all the tool aisles, endcaps, and displays in main aisles around tool dept. Methinks it's no coincidence that the promotion allegedly starts today, except I doubt Lowes has a sense of humor!

I got my free blade today. THe store display had been moved to in front of the commercial services desk. It had a new photocopied sign attached over the slot where you put the blade. The sign said, Trade in a "Freud Diablo or any other competitive 7-1/4-in blade" and get a free 7-1/4" 24-T Irwin Weldtec ...

It went on to say the offer was valid April 1-30 2013 and was limited to 5 blades per person(!)

I handed in my old sears HSS blade and she didn't want to take it because it had no name on the side (or it was worn off, I can't remember.). She showed me where it said "Freud Diablo" and said it had to have a name on it. Then she showed me the blades already turned in which were about 3 total and ironically I could identify them as Irwin Marathons but there was really not enough of any one word to tell, I could tell by the color and bits of the logo. I pointed out it also said "or any competitive blade". I asked if she was really going to give me a hard time and she sighed and rang up the blade at 11.97, then scanned a card on the register that rang up the discount, and I walked out with this blade.
